Ricarda Sibylle Bormann grew up in a family of classical musicians. She studied violin, among others in the class of Saschko Gawriloff (HdK Berlin) and with Gerhard Roither. During this time (in 1985) she had her first musical encounter with Tango Nuevo when she accompanied Astor Piazzolla in concerts in Basel and Zürich, playing as a guest musician with the Basel Sinfonietta (Konzert f. Bandoneón, Adiós Nonino, Tres Tangos).
She always worked as a freelancer, e.g. for the Berliner Symphoniker, Berliner Kammeroper, Neuköllner Oper, Berlin Film- and Dance-Orchestra, at the Theater des Westens, the Schiller-Theater and at the Volksbühne am Rosa- Luxemburg-Platz.
Her passion for dance (including training at Centro Flamenco Cultural with Manuel Moreno 1991-1994) let her take new paths in her work too. So since 1999 she is also playing Flamenco (among others with the Compañía Ana María Amahi and Magna Mata) and since 2001 finally Tango Argentino (with Septísimo Tango and Sabor A Tango).
